The Workforce Benchmarking Network
The Workforce Benchmarking Network (WBN) connects community-based organizations providing workforce development services around the country—along with public and private funders and other intermediaries—to support better results for job seekers, employers and communities. Housed at Corporation for a Skilled Workforce (CSW), the WBN ensures that quality data
CSW provided strategic support to the statewide advisory board for the State of Michigan’s Green Jobs Initiative which was the state’s $5 million, multi-year signature workforce and economic development initiative to grow the state’s green economy.
In 2012 and 2013, CSW facilitated the development of a joint strategic plan for the Detroit Workforce Development Board (the city WIB) and the Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation (the city’s WIA service provider). The City of Detroit has undergone many functional and organizational changes in the past 18 months, most notably creation of the nonprofit Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation

CSW is evaluating the degree to which exposure to Northern Initiatives' technical assistance increases survival growth rates of businesses being served by NI. CSW also evaluates what other supports NI borrowers are using, and the value of these resources and networks on business success.
