CSW is proud to announce the addition of Katya Nekrasova as our Business Development Manager! In her new role, Katya supports CSW’s organizational growth and fundraising efforts by advancing business development strategies, strengthening proposal and grant processes, and aligning CSW’s products and services with funder and field priorities. She partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to identify funding opportunities, guide complex proposal efforts, strengthen business development systems and resources, and cultivate relationships with funders and strategic partners. She also monitors workforce and education trends to align CSW’s products, services, and initiatives with evolving market and philanthropic priorities.
Katya brings more than 20 years of experience in workforce development, community colleges, career and technical education, and public funding. Prior to joining CSW, she served as Director of Federal and State Programs at the Education Design Lab, where she launched the Lab’s first federal funding strategy and expanded its portfolio of public funding opportunities. She led winning grant proposals, including two U.S. Department of Labor Strengthening Community Colleges awards, advancing workforce strategies, career pathways, and equitable access to education and employment through cross-sector partnerships and public investment.
Previously, Katya served for more than a decade at the American Association of Community Colleges, where she led national workforce initiatives and managed the Commission on Small and Rural Colleges. She built partnerships with federal agencies, foundations, and community colleges to advance workforce development and economic opportunity. Throughout her career, she has secured competitive funding, led complex initiatives, and developed strategies that strengthen education and workforce systems.
Katya earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in ESL from the University of St. Petersburg. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Georgetown University.
Outside of her professional role, Katya serves as a Community Development Grant Panel Reviewer for the Executive Office of the Mayor of Washington, DC, and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Rural Community College Alliance.
