Gary Yakimov

CSW Board Member

Gary is an Executive Partner for Gartner, where he delivers actionable, objective insight to executives and their teams to enable faster, smarter decisions on their mission-critical priorities, with a focus on data and analytics. Gary works with several dozen clients on a regular cadence to leverage his knowledge and experience in areas critical to growing data as an enterprise asset, creating a data-driven culture, and infusing data into the mission and business goals to create business value for leaders, customers, and stakeholders.

Prior to joining Gartner Gary served over six years as Chief Data Officer for the Federal Judicial Branch at the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. In this position Gary was responsible for all facets of data leadership including strategy, management and governance, quality, and analytics.

Prior to his leadership role in the Judicial Branch, Gary has also served in the Executive Branch of the federal government, having served as Manager of Policy and Research for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. In this role Gary measured the impact of MEP on small and mid-sized manufacturers in key areas including workforce, innovation, growth, export, and supply chain.

Gary has extensive background in workforce development including serving as Director of Business Policy at the Maryland Governors Workforce Investment Board and Deputy Director of Labor Market Information in the State of Delaware. He is an alumnus of the Corporation for a Skilled Workforce, where he served as Director of Business and Industry Strategies for several years. Gary has a particular passion and interest in the role of business and public-private partnerships to address systemic workforce challenges.

Gary holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and International Affairs from the University of South Carolina.
