Since 2008, the WBN national survey has collected confidential aggregate data from hundreds of direct service workforce programs, resulting in the largest dataset of its kind in the country. The survey is now continuously open and includes information on:
- aggregate participant demographics for specific programs
- services provided to program participants and employers
- aggregate program completion, job placement and retention, wage, financial and other results, with a new emphasis on reporting result data disaggregated by race/ethnicity and gender wherever possible
Confidential survey reports are now updated in “real time” and are more interactive, allowing users to get more customized information about how their programs compare to peers.
Why Participate in the WBN National Survey?
The WBN data provide field-wide performance benchmarks that are useful reference points for providers, funders, and other stakeholders. The data also help illuminate program characteristics and services that matter to increase participant success rates. This information is critical to guide individual program improvement efforts as well as local system-level strategies.
Participating organizations gain:
- confidential, customizable reports comparing their program results to an “apples to apples” peer group
- additional data about how others in the field are implementing program strategies
- access to webinars, guides, and tools to assist with completing the survey, understanding the survey reports, and putting survey data to use
Funders who partner with the WBN to support organizations’ survey participation gain:
- additional technical assistance for organizations around survey completion and use of their data, including cohort webinars, individual coaching calls, and action planning tools
- more refined data analysis to inform larger local system planning
