Detroit, Michigan, September 24, 2026: Corporation for a Skilled Workforce (CSW), with support from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, is partnering with consultant Chioke Mose-Telesford and a working group comprised of leaders in the youth workforce space to conduct a landscape analysis of Southeast Michigan’s youth workforce ecosystem.
As part of this work, CSW is conducting The Southeast Michigan Youth Workforce Ecosystem Survey. This survey aims to help build a better understanding of the youth workforce ecosystem across Southeast Michigan and how young people ages 14–24 navigate a range of organizations and systems as they move from education and career exploration to training, work-based learning, employment, and career advancement.
The Southeast Michigan Youth Workforce Ecosystem Survey will:
- Map the organizations and services supporting young people across the region and identify where organizations engage young people along the pathway to employment;
- Examine how young people enter and move through the ecosystem, including common outreach, referral, and connection points between organizations;
- Better understand the workforce services available to young people, including career exploration, career readiness, education and training, work-based learning, employment, and related supports;
- Identify organizational capacity needs, including technology, partnerships, and other resources that affect organizations’ ability to serve young people;
- Explore connections among youth-serving organizations, employers, education and training providers, workforce organizations, and other partners across the ecosystem; and
- Identify opportunities for investment and greater coordination that could strengthen the youth workforce ecosystem across Southeast Michigan.
The survey is open to organizations providing workforce-related services or supports to young people in Michigan, including organizations whose primary mission may not be workforce development but that play a role in helping young people prepare for, connect to, or succeed in employment. If your organization provides workforce-focused training, programs, or services to youth and young adults ages 14–24 in Michigan, we hope you will take part in the survey.
