Kysha Frazier has been named Vice President, Policy & Strategy by Corporation for a Skilled Workforce (CSW), effective immediately.
“I’m delighted to announce Kysha’s promotion to CSW’s leadership team,” said CSW President & CEO Larry Good. “She brings a wonderful mix of skills, experience and passion to CSW’s work, and has been a key member of our team for a long time. This change will position her to play an invaluable role in strengthening CSW’s ability to contribute to increasing economic mobility.”
In recent years, her work has centered around strengthening the capacity of community-based service providers to use data effectively for program improvements that result in improved workforce outcomes for the jobseekers they serve. In her new role, Frazier will join Good and Chief Financial Officer Sherri Cavanaugh in providing senior leadership to the CSW team. Kysha will focus on development of strategies, including working with CSW staff, partners and funders to design and implement high-impact initiatives that align with CSW’s mission and values. Internally, she will lead CSW’s hiring and talent development and its project management system. Kysha will also continue to lead CSW’s racial equity and inclusion work, which centers on strengthening the organization’s internal REI practices and on embedding REI centrally into CSW’s projects and initiatives.
Previously, Frazier has served as a Senior Policy Associate during her 13 years at CSW. In recent years, her work has centered around strengthening the capacity of community-based service providers to use data effectively for program improvements that result in improved workforce outcomes for the jobseekers they serve. Kysha leads the national Workforce Benchmarking Network, and has led a series of related regional initiatives, most recently in partnership with United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey and the Job Opportunity Investment Network.
During the past several years, Kysha has led a CSW team partnering with the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices to provide national customized technical assistance to grant recipients of the American Apprenticeship Initiative, following on similar work supporting grantees within prior federal workforce initiatives. Kysha has also led a partnership with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to build collective action and implementation of community strategies to move families in Grand Rapids, Michigan out of poverty.
Prior to joining CSW in 2008, Kysha created, launched and served as business unit leader of Cascade Consulting Group, a consulting division of Grand Rapids manufacturer Cascade Engineering. Kysha was responsible for identifying and designing innovative solutions to assist clients in becoming employers of choice. Previously, Kysha served as the Assistant Director of Career Services at Hope College. Kysha earned a master’s in higher education administration from the University of Iowa, a master’s in organizational management from Spring Arbor University, and a bachelor’s from the University of Iowa in anthropology and African American world studies.
